Weekly is common practice, with daily pre-starts on higher-risk work. Many main contractors set the frequency in their site rules; match theirs.
▸Why does the record matter?
Engaging workers on health and safety is a duty under HSWA 2015 (sections 58 and 59), and the signed record is how you show the engagement and instruction actually happened, to the main contractor and to WorkSafe.
