Toolbox talk record

A toolbox talk without a record is a conversation; a signed record is evidence of consultation and instruction. Use this form to capture the topic, the key points, what the crew raised, and who attended, then file it with your site records.

Common questions

How often should toolbox talks run?

Common practice is weekly, and daily pre-starts on higher-risk work. Many principal contractors set the frequency in their site rules; match theirs.

Why does the sign-on matter?

Consulting workers on health and safety is a duty, and the signed record is how you show instruction and consultation actually happened, both to the builder and to an inspector.

Need the talks themselves? Our library has ready-to-run toolbox talks, and every SWMS pack includes a set.

A checklist confirms controls are in place; a SWMS is the document the law requires before high risk construction work starts. Generate a site-specific one for your trade.
